Many young people never have the opportunity to experience aviation and aerospace firsthand. Legacy Flight Academy® changes that by helping students Know, Live, and Grow the Legacy of the Tuskegee Airmen through character development, mentorship, aviation experiences, STEM education, and pathways to future careers.

African-Americans represent only about 2% of pilots in both military and commercial aviation. Legacy Flight Academy® was founded to change that — built on the courageous foundation of the Tuskegee Airmen who proved that excellence knows no boundaries.
Early exposure to aviation is a significant factor in professional success in aerospace careers. LFA combines quality character development programs and aviation experiences that inspire young people to achieve their goals in STEM careers while becoming strong citizens and contributors to society.
